Joe “JT” Toth provides vocals for SoulQuest; however, his talents go well beyond singing. He has played rhythm guitar, bass and drums for a host of bands in the Detroit area throughout his 23 year career including Speed Limit (later known as Strangers), Double Play (a duo), The Casuals, Dialtones, the Soulkrackers, Emerging Soul, Encore, Double Play, The Shin Dig, Street Corner, and Street Heart. He has been part of a Beatles Tribute band, sang for a year with the Detroit Concert Choir, and has played in 50s & 60s, doo-wop, and Motown/Soul bands. In addition to working with SoulQuest, you’ll find JT singing leads for 70s classic rock band BlackJack. He’s sung at all the Detroit casinos, the Motor City Bowl and the famous Hamtramck Festival. JT appeared on TV singing for the Cruising Idol contest on WXYZ Channel 7 and the following morning sang on Dick Purtan’s radio show. The Beatles, from the time he saw them on the Ed Sullivan show, have been his greatest influence. Then after seeing Bruce Springsteen live, it changed his whole approach to performing onstage. JT is a native of Detroit, MI and now lives in Lathrup Village.
